The Fondation québécoise de la déficience intellectuelle was created in 1988 by the Association du Québec pour l'intégration sociale (AQIS) to gather founds in order to help organisms who work towards the integration and the improvement of the quality of life for persons suffering from intellectual deficiency from all over the province of Quebec. From Saint-Ambroise to Havre-Saint-Pierre, from Gatineau to Chandler, the contribution of these organization to the wellbeing of these individuals has provoked contagious smiles, in all the different regions of our wonderful province!
Financial aid
$ 16 820 for a summer camp!
Every year, the Corporation l'Espoir of LaSalle offers a day camp, an essential service to more than 172 families from the South-West of Montreal. This program gives to the parents the chance to work, their mind at rest, all summer long. It gives some respite to the parents, the chance to pursuit the integration in the community of individuals living with a mental deficiency, stimulation for the clientele, the opportuniy to socialize and participate to group activities and mostly, to be able to make friend and have vacation time, like everybody else. The benefices are therefore numerous and important for all the persons involved. For all these reasons, the Fondation québécoise de la déficience intellectuelle has given a financial aid for the day camp program of $ 16 820 in order to pay parts of the fees inherent to the activity. Corporation l'Espoir has celebrated its 30th anniversary.
The camp gets a home theater!
The Camp Les Bosquets Albert Hudon has been in place for more than 60 years. Located on des Patriotes Road in Otterburn Park, it's owned by the Quebec Society for Disabled Children. Founded in 1930, the Quebec Society for Disabled Children is a non-profit organisation dedicated to the well-being of children with special needs and the quality of life of their family. The financial aid of $ 8500 from the Fondation québécoise de la déficience intellectuelle will allow the installation of a home theater. This addition will give a new opportunity to all the different groups coming to the camp.
